Josiah Vermont is an avid Canadian poet, writer, outdoorsman, world traveller, and amateur soccer player. The award winning author has written newspaper articles on culture, sports, history, and featured in various publications for his work such as the St Catharines Standard, The Brock Press, Students versus Words, PRECEPICe, and Falling Star Magazine. He has published 4 poetry collections and is currently working on a book of short stories. The hard copy Yesterday’s Pink Carnations (2012) was authored under the nom de plume Y. Nahshon and likewise A Few More Sunsets (2016) under the pseudonym Ben Zeev, but this blog is where Josiah Vermont’s lyricism and free verse is credited directly to him. He is the recipient of the Marion Drysdale Award (1st place) for prose, The Poetic Soul Award (2nd place) for his poem Red White and Blue, and has received several honourable mentions in various literary competitions as well as featured on the Ben Bresky radio podcast.
