at that same time
trying to unwind

Could you see my hearts tenderness
sense my distant presence..
or hear my silent apology?
Did you understand I was your prisoner
that never wanted to be freed?
When you glanced up at the moon tonight
did you remember releasing me?

I’m going down to the waterfront tonight
Search for you in faces that pass
Then I’ll turn the keys
listen for your voice on the radio breeze
or in the songs I played before the crash
If it takes another lifetime for me to find you-
that’s not too great a task
Looking up at this moon tonight
reflecting on our past
