Too Late

Too Late
Josiah Vermont

Like a yacht gliding out of the harbour
each second carries us further apart
One minute we’re closer than sand and water
Now disconnected, drifting,
slowly spinning away
into the dark
Hope you’ll be fine in your forward journeys
Pray that I’m safe pursuing mine
If you remember, smile for me
We had a good thing for quite a while

And now i don’t know how
to exist without you
Wake up without you,
can’t make up without you

And i don’t know why
This hearts beating for you
Arms beg to hold you
Eyes still adore you

Back then, i never understood
why you forgave me
But although I’m too late,
you could say now
I Do
