Josiah Vermont

Moses never reached Israel.
His eyes gazed across her wild beauty,
his thoughts dreamt of her in his sleep,
but his feet never danced across the hills of Judea
and lips never kissed the waters of Jordan.

When i reach Zion.. not if i do,
I will have accomplished a feat even Moses did not.
And as my lips taste the dust of Jerusalem
I will have lived a full life.
